International project / Projects / International Projects / Kakira Sugar Ltd., Uganda / Kakira Sugar Ltd., Uganda One of Africa’s largest sugarcane milling tandems USIPL was commissioned one of Africa’s largest milling tandems for Kakira Sugar Limited, the flagship company of the legendary Madhwani Group of Uganda. The tandem consists of 5 mills of size 50” x 100”. Each of these USIPL mills weighs approximately 220 tons (equivalent to the weight of 35 African elephants) and the tandem is designed to crush 8,500 tons of sugarcane every day. To avoid any re-work at project site and to ensure meticulous erection, each of these mills was pre-assembled and then dis-mantled at USIPLs workshops and then shipped to Uganda. The plant is already operating at its full capacity, a testament to the exceptional performance of USIPLs state-of-the-art equipment. This remarkable feature, seen across all plants established by us, underscores our dedication to manufacturing equipment that is not only high-quality but also operationally efficient from the very moment of start-up.

International project / Projects / International Projects / Dangote Group - Nigeria / Dangote Group - Nigeria Our recent remarkable achievement: Dangote Group, Nigeria awards the contracts for 2 of West Africa’s largest sugar complexes to USIPL USIPL has recently been awarded the contract for the supply of equipment & machinery for 2 integrated sugar complexes. Each of the 2 contracts envisages setting up a sugar plant with a crushing capacity of 12,000 TCD, a power co-generation facility of 45 MW and a cutting-edge technology 100 KLPD ethanol distillery. To be set-up in Nigeria, both these projects will help in drastically reducing the country’s heavy dependence on sugar-imports, saving precious foreign exchange, generating livelihoods for thousands of farmers and in addition, creating direct employment opportunities. The Dangote Group’s sugar complexes being set up by USIPL will boast of the latest global technologies and equipment with the bulk of the sugar equipment being manufactured in Uttam's own work-shops located in the norther part of India. Located approximately 45 kms. from New Delhi, Uttam’s manufacturing facilities are state-of-the-art – being fully equipped with CNC machines. The workshops manufacture 100% of the equipment used in a sugar factory, to the highest standards of quality.

The project, 110 km SouthEast of the capital near Nazareth city in Oromia Regional State, was conceptualized in a bid to replace old sugar factories of the region namely Wonji and Shoa. This project was carried out under the Indian Line of Credit to the Ethiopian government. USIPL is the EPC contractor of the project including the civil works. The salient features of the project are: Location: Oromia Regional State Plant Capacity: 6,250 TCD Steam Generation: 2 x 130 t/h (260 t/h); 67 kg/cm²(a); 515°C size Power Co-generation: 31.5 MWh Production Milestone: 800,000 Sugar bag within 250 days (5 days ahead of schedule) Factory Statistics First Season: Total Sugar Produced: 81000 MT Total High Grade (Coca Cola) Sugar: 5200 MT Produced (ICUMSA 80 and below) Sugar Recovery percentage: 11.83% Positive Impact of the Project in the Region This project led to agricultural expansion around Wakie Tiyo, Welenchiti and North Dodota areas making 16,000 hectares of sugarcane plantation field in total. Out of this the 7,000 hectares of sugarcane field is owned by out grower farmers of the surrounding area. There are 32 Sugarcane Out-growers associations of 9,100 member farmers, who are directly benefited from this Project. The Factory supports the farmers with seeds, irrigation facilities and rendering professional as well as technical support to them. This project not only saved the country’s expenditure on Sugar imports but also contributed electric power to the national grid.
