Shri Ambalika Sugar, Maharashtra, India

Shri Ambalika Sugar Private Limited located at Ambika Nagar, Taluka Karjat, District Ahmednagar -414403, Maharashtra is a Private Company incorporated on 11thMay 2011. The sugar plant of 2500 TCD capacity (expandable to 4000 TCD) with 15MW cogeneration is designed, manufactured, erected and commissioned by UTTAM on EPC basis.

During the execution of project, the plant was upgraded with few additions/alterations such as:

  • Boiler capacity enhanced from 80 t/h to 90 t/h

  • Balancing Pump capacities

  • 1 no. Cane Unloader Trolley – 7.5 t SWL

  • 1 no. Feeder Table

  • 1 no. Semi-kestner – 2700 m²,

  • 1 no. Vapor Line Juice Heater – 350 m²,

  • 1 no. Batch type Vacuum Pan – 100 t

  • 1 no. Pan Supply Tank

  • 1 no. Crystallizer – 110 t

  • 1 no. Batch Centrifugal – 1750 kg/charge

  • 1 no. Continuous Centrifugal – Æ 1100 mm

The sugar plant has been operating successfully for the past two sugarcane crushing seasons. The plant is now crushing at an average crushing capacity of 4039 TCD (including stoppages) and 4170 TCD (excluding stoppages). The mechanical stoppages on account of machinery and equipments remained zero. The peak capacity achieved from the plant was 4570 TCD on 27.01.2014.

The following are the salient features of the plant:

Project: Green Field Sugar Plant

Present Crushing Capacity: 2500 TCD (4000 TCD including in-built capacity)

Steam Consumption: 36-38%

Sugar: Plantation White Sugar

Sugar Color: 80 ICUMSA

Juice Extraction: Milling (4 Rollers, 4 Milling Tandems)

Clarification Process: Double Sulphitation.

Process House: 

  • Gravity flow, three massecuite boiling with provision of 3½ massecuite boiling with continuous vacuum Pans for ‘B’ & ‘C’ massecuite boiling.

  • Online automated, de-superheating arrangement.

  • Use of Condensate Heaters

  • Exhaust condensate heat recovery system.

Condensate Flashing System:

Centralized condensate collection & flashing system with common vapor condensate pump along with super-heated wash water arrangement. 

  • Waste heat recovery at Sulphur Melting Station. No use of MP or HP steam.

  • Use of exhaust steam in Boiling House, only at inlet of 1st effect of Evaporator.

  • Sugar dust collection system at sugar house.

  • Water conservation system.

  • Hurdle free access to plant & each equipment

  • Well-designed process piping, steam piping.

  • Firefighting arrangements

  • Pressurized Ventilation System

  • Natural Ventilation System in factory building.

  • Spacious layout with provisions for future expansion.

Steam Generation: 90 t/h Travelling Grate Water Tube Boiler fully automatic.

Power Generation: 15 MW Double Extraction cum Back Pressure Turbine with auto grid synchronizing.

Plant Automation: Centralized DCS controlled Automation along with local operating stations.

Electrical: Fully Electrical Driven Plant

Exhaust condensate heat recovery system.
