- Vacuum batch pans, of low head rapid boiling calandria type are proposed.
- The tubes shall be SS 304 quality ERW stainless steel of 16 SWG.
- The pitch of the tubes shall be such that ligament is not less than 15 mm.
- The bottom saucer shall be welded to the calandria in which case suitable arrangement for expanding the tubes in the bottom tube plate shall be provided.
- A vapor space of 2.5 m shall be provided in the cylindrical portion above the strike level.
- The pan shall have internal save all of efficient design.
- Each pan shall have feed manifold.
- Pans shall have sight and light glasses, light and reflection to illuminate the whole tube plate and to have calibration scale, provision of connections of vacuum gauge and thermometer in vapor space and also provision of nozzles of compound gauge and thermometer in the calandria.
- Pans shall be complete in every respect with necessary nozzles with fittings for satisfactory operation including key sampler, vacuum atmosphere venting.
CONTROL PHILOSPHY
- Local controller or PLC based automation is provided for Batch Vacuum Pan for operation of the pan with minimal operator interference.
- HMI display shall be provided at pan floor for monitoring/control to pan operation within 10 meter distance from the Batch Vacuum Pan.
Molasses/Syrup Feed Control
- The brix values are set. Brix transmitter & level transmittal are provided, which provides signal to feed control valve.
- The instruments are mainly used to regulate molasses feed/ syrup. The loop consists of one sensor, Brix Transmitter, level transmitter, Electro-pneumatic positioner with pneumatic control valves.
Condensate Flow Meter
- Magnetic type flow meter shall be provided for monitoring condensate flow from pan.
Vapor Control Valve
- Vapor flow is controlled based on the vapor pressure. Electro-pneumatic positioner with pneumatic control valve shall be provided.
- Vacuum Control
Temperature/pressure of the batch type vacuum pan is maintained by condenser. Injection water to condenser inlet will be maintaining the desired vacuum.
- Monitoring of Parameters
The following parameters are monitored:
- Pressure and temperature of calandria
- Vacuum and temperature of body
- Condensate flow
- Brix
SRI DESIGNED CONTINUOUS VACUUM PAN
EXTRA LOW HEAD VACUUM PANS
Design Feature / Advantages:
- Evaporation rate is increases due to fast boiling
- Speedy & High circulation developed resulting of uniform grain size due to less tube length
- Boiling period of massecuite is minimize & hence pan capacity utilization increases considerably (i.e. Pan Capacity increases by 20%)
- Steam consumption reduced about 25% than high head pan
